Story of our car
Maserati Sebring Series II - Tipo AM101/10 was introduced in 1965 as a facelift model of the previous Series I. Till the end of production in 1968, 243 cars were made. It is 2+2 Coupe designed by Giovanni Michelotti. It was aimed at the US market with the name after the famous american race 12 Hours of Sebring, where Maserati was very successful. The price was expensive at that time, with the US list price of $12,800 being 22% more than the contemporary Aston Martin DB5.
The design changes on Series II were slightly redesigned headlamps, more modern bumpers, horizontal taillights, and narrower bootlid opening or the grill on the fenders. Series II cars came equipped with double wishbone suspension up front, with coil springs, a live axle, and longitudinal leaf springs in the rear. Behind the 15“ rims are hidden the disc brakes on all four wheels. Maserati Sebring has the 6 cylinder in-line enigne with mechanical fuel injection made by Lucas and the double spark plugs ingnition system. There were three different engine capacities called 3500 3700 and 4000. This car has the 3700 enigine with capacity 3692ccm with 245hp. Together wit 5-speed gearbox the top speed of this car was nearly 250km/h.
Maserati came to us as a barn find and the renovation started in Febuary 2018. We have the certificate of origin from Maserati which tells us that the car was made in August 1966. We are looking forward to the next year, when the car will come back in A1 condition.
